The Fig. 1710 Balancing globe valve is a straight
pattern design having the stem/disc arrangement vertical to the direction
of flow compared to conventional oblique "Y" pattern globe valves.
The full open position in straight pattern globe valves has higher differential
pressure (pressure losses) than an oblique pattern valve. The flow capacity
of the straight pattern valve in the full open position is typically 20%
lower than the oblique type.

The higher pressure signals on the Fig 1710 balancing

The Fig. 1710 Balancing valve is a non-rising
stem design incorporating a parabolic (plug) shaped disc. Each valve is
fitted with 2 pressure test points, red strap indicating upstream (high
pressure) and blue strap indicating downstream (low pressure) for differential
pressure measurement. The handwheel assembly incorporates an indicator
window, with a Black numeral for full turns and a Red numeral for tenths
of turns. The main valve spindle incorporates an inner spindle for double
regulation memory stop and valve position setting. |
