DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION:
Bobrick 256 Series anchor plates are constructed of 3-inch (75mm) wide, 12-gauge (.105) galvanized steel. 1/4"–20 threaded holes for grab bar mounting screws are extruded, then tapped, to form minimum .200-inch (5.1mm) length of usable thread per hole. This provides a solid grip on mounting screws and assures permanently rigid installation. Tests show that on direct pull-out, each anchor plate hole can hold in excess of 1500 pounds (6.7 kN) before thread failure.

These anchor plates are available in 24", 36", and 48" (610, 915, and 1220mm) lengths with hole patterns spaced 24" to 36" (610 to 915mm) apart. For grab bars having flanges or mounting plates that are not 24" (610mm) or 36" (915mm) apart, there is a 24" (610mm) anchor plate with a single hole pattern (see Figure 2).
Anchor plates are furnished with stainless steel machine screws for the attachment of grab bars.
DIRECTIONS FOR USING THE TABLE ON PAGE 3 TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT ANCHOR PLATE MODEL NUMBER, SIZE, AND QUANTITY:
The table on page 3 may be used as outlined in the steps below to determine the correct model, size, and quantity of Bobrick anchor plates recommended for all Bobrick grab bar models.
1. Find the grab bar series you want in the columns under "Concealed Mounting" or "Exposed Mounting". The appropriate anchor plate model number is listed below each grab bar series (xx signifies the size to be specified in step 2b).
2. In the column below each grab bar model number are figures designating the quantity and size of the anchor plate(s) required for that grab bar model.
a. The number of anchor plates required is shown in parentheses, e.g., (1) means one anchor plate is required.
b. The number preceded by a dash tells the span between the hole patterns in each anchor plate; e.g., -24 means there is a span of 24 inches between the two hole patterns in the anchor plate, -36 means a span of 36 inches, and -0 means there is only one hole pattern in the anchor plate. Add this number to the anchor plate model number to specify the size.
EXAMPLE: To determine the correct anchor plates to order for a Model B-5837 horizontal two-wall grab bar of the B-5806 Series:
1. Find the B-5806 Series caption in the second column (it is in the fourth row). The space below the B-5806 Series caption shows that the correct anchor plate for this grab bar series is Model 2562.
2. Find the Horizontal Two-Wall Grab Bar 36 x 54 configuration at left of the chart (it is in the 4th row). Follow the column down to the B-5837 caption that is located in the B-5806 Series column.
3. The space below the B-5837 caption shows that three anchor plates of the -0 size (the 24-inch anchor plate with only one hole pattern) are required for this grab bar model. Add -0 to the anchor plate model number found in step 1.
4. Therefore, for each Model B-5837 Horizontal Two-Wall Grab Bar of the B-5806 Series, we recommend that you specify three Model 2562-0 Anchor Plates.
