操作热水器之前，请执行下列步骤：

   Completely fill the tank with water.

   Carefully read and understand the section, "Water Temperature Regulation", of this manual.
5. 按照“调节温控器/高温限制控制”的有关说明，通过调节温控器设置所需要的水温。
   Adjust the thermostat to the desired temperature setting as directed under "Adjusting the Thermostat/ High Limit Control".

　　重要提示：如果温控器，或包括的绝缘保温层以任何方式接触到水，此温控器，或绝缘保温层。不要企图修理这些部件。如果热水器被水淹过，或温控器在水里浸泡过，都必须更换整台热水器。
　　Important: Do not attempt to operate this water heater if the temperature(s), or surrounding insulation has been exposed to water in any way. Immediately call a qualified service technician to inspect the water heater and replace any temperature, or insulation that has been exposed to water. Do not attempt to repair these parts. Water heaters subjected to flood conditions or any time the temperature(s) have been submerged in water require replacement of the entire water heater.

Safety Shut-off

　　本热水器配置高温限制控制开关，用于当热水器水温超过77°C时，关闭通向加热元件的电源。如果水温超过77°C，高温限制控制开关将会关闭加热元件的电源。高温限制控制可以重置，只需在温控器上的红色重置按钮上使劲按一下即可。按照“调节温控器/高温限制控制”的有关说明进行操作，正确重置高温限制控制器。
　　This water heater is designed to automatically shut off in the event that the water temperature exceeds170°F (77°C). A high limit control switch is used to shut off the power to the elements if the water temperature exceeds 170°F (77°C). The high limit control can be reset by firmly pushing in the red reset button located on the thermostat. Follow the instructions under "Adjusting the Thermostat/High Limit Control" to properly reset the high limit control.

　　The thermostat is adjusted to a temperature setting of 120°F or lower when it is shipped from the factory. Water temperature can be regulated by adjusting the temperature control system to the preferred setting as shown in "Adjusting the Thermostat/High limit Control." The recommended starting point is 120°F. There is a hot water scald potential if the temperature control is set too high.

　　重要提示：如果水温设置超过49^oC，将增加被烫伤的危险。在下列情况下，热水将造成一级烫伤：

　　20秒钟的54^oC热水
　　3秒钟的60^oC热水

　　Important: Adjusting the temperature past 120°F on the temperature control will increase the risk of scald injury. Hot water can produce first degree burns within:
　　120°F (49°C) more than 5 minutes
　　130°F (54°C) at 20 seconds
　　140°F (60°C) at 3 seconds
　　150°F (66°C) at 1-1/2 seconds
　　160°F (71°C) at less than 1 second

　　在热水需求量比较少的时期，调低温控器的温度设置有利于减少能源损耗，也能够满足正常的热水需求。如果预计热水需求量将超过正常时期，可能需要调高温控器的温度设置，以满足增加热水的需求。
　　During low demand periods when hot water is not being used, a lower thermostat setting will reduce energy losses and may satisfy your normal hot water needs. If hot water use is expected to be more than normal, a higher thermostat setting may be required to meet the increased demand.

　　如果离家的时间比较长（度假，等等），请把温控器的温度设置调到最低位置。这有助于将水温保持在最低水平，既可以最大限度节约能源，又能够防止热水器内胆在冰冻季节被冻结住。
　　When leaving your home for extended periods (vacations, etc.) turn the thermostat to its lowest setting. This will maintain the water at low temperatures with minimum energy losses and prevent the tank from freezing during cold weather.
