操作热水器之前，请执行下列步骤：
　　Before operating the water heater, perform the following:

1. 确保已经正确安装热水器。
   Make sure the water heater has been properly installed.
2. 热水器内胆完全注满水。（请参阅图2）
   Completely fill the tank with water.(See Figure 2)
3. 只能在热水器完全注满水后才能够接通电源。
   Apply power to the water heater only after the tank is completely filled with water.
4. 仔细阅读和理解本手册中的“水温调节”章节。
   Carefully read and understand the section, "Water Temperature Regulation", of this manual.
5. 按照“调节温控器/高温限制控制”的有关说明，通过调节温控器设置所需要的水温。
   Adjust the thermostat to the desired temperature setting as directed under "Adjusting the Thermostat/ High Limit Control".

　　重要提示：如果温控器，或包括的绝缘保温层以任何方式接触到水，此温控器，或绝缘保温层。不要企图修理这些部件。如果热水器被水淹过，或温控器在水里浸泡过，都必须更换整台热水器。
　　Important: Do not attempt to operate this water heater if the temperature(s), or surrounding insulation has been exposed to water in any way. Immediately call a qualified service technician to inspect the water heater and replace any temperature, or insulation that has been exposed to water. Do not attempt to repair these parts. Water heaters subjected to flood conditions or any time the temperature(s) have been submerged in water require replacement of the entire water heater.

　　本热水器配置高温限制控制开关，用于当热水器水温超过83°C时，关闭通向加热元件的电源。如果水温超过83°C，高温限制控制开关（重置按钮）将会关闭加热元件的电源。高温限制控制可以重置，只需在温控器上的重置按钮（参阅图4）上按一下即可。按照“调节温控器/高温限制控制”的有关说明进行操作，正确重置水温。
　　This water heater is designed to automatically shut off in the event that the water temperature exceeds180°F (83°C). A high limit control switch (Reset Button) is used to shut off ower to the elements if the water temperature exceeds 180°F (80°C). The high limit control can be reset by firmly pressing the Reset Button (See Figure 4). Follow the directions under "Locating and Adjusting the Thermostat/High Limit Control" to reset the temperature.

　　The thermostat is adjusted to a temperature setting of 120°F or lower when it is shipped from the factory. Water temperature can be regulated by adjusting the temperature to the preferred setting as shown in "Adjusting the Thermostat/High limit Control." The preferred starting point is WARM approximately 120°F. There is a hot water scald potential if the temperature control is set too high.

　　在不使用热水器期间，较低的温度设置有利于减少能源消耗，并且仍然能够满足需要。如果所需要的热水超过了正常需求，则可以调高温度设置及可能会满足需求（但是也同时加大了被烫伤的危险）。在下列情况下，热水将造成一级烫伤：

　　20秒钟的54^oC热水
　　3秒钟的60^oC热水

　　During low periods when hot water is not being used, a lower thermostat setting will reduce energy losses and may satisfy your normal hot water needs. If hot water is expected to exceed normal usage, a higher thermostat setting may be required (although it greatly increases the risk of scald injury). Hot water can produce first degree burns within:
　　120°F (49°C) more than 5 minutes
　　130°F (54°C) at 20 seconds
　　140°F (60°C) at 3 seconds
　　150°F (66°C) at 1-1/2 seconds
　　160°F (71°C) at less than 1 second

　　本热水器配置一个可调节温度的调节温控器和手动重置高温限制控制装置。在重置高温限制控制装置时请按照下列步骤进行
　　This water heater is equipped with one adjustable temperature regulating thermostat and a manual reset high limit control. The following procedure must be performed when resetting the high limit control.
　　1. 拆卸前盖板。
　　1. Remove the front access cover.
　　2. 拆卸温度表盘
　　2. Remove the temperature dial.
　　3. 查找并按下重置按钮（参阅图4）
　　3. Locate and press the reset button (See Figure 4 below).
